We collect the following information when you use Saldoo:

• Account information: name, last name, email, and password (encrypted)
• Profile information: preferred currency, timezone, notification preferences
• Group information: group names, descriptions, members, aliases within groups
• Expense and Activity Records: notes on expenses, categories, cost splits and manual payment records (the application does not process real payments or banking transactions, it only maintains a visual record)
• Technical data: IP address, device type, operating system, device ID
• Location information: only if you enable travel mode and grant explicit consent. You can revoke this permission at any time.
• Camera and Gallery: access to camera and gallery to scan receipts (OCR) and attach vouchers to expenses. These images are processed to extract data and stored securely.
• Advertising Identifiers: we use device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID) to show ads and analyze advertising performance through Google AdMob.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain Saldoo services
• Manage your account and authentication
• Process and record shared expense transactions
• Calculate and display balances between group members
• Send notifications about expenses, payments, and reminders (if you authorize it)
• Improve and personalize your app experience
• Analyze service usage to improve functionality
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We share your information in the following circumstances:

• With other group members: your alias, expenses you record, payments you make, and balances are visible to other members of your groups
• With service providers: we share data with providers who help us operate the application (hosting, analytics, push notifications)
• To comply with law: we may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes
• With your consent: in other cases, we will ask for explicit permission before sharing your information

4. Storage and Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

• Your passwords are stored encrypted using industry-standard algorithms
• Data is transmitted through secure connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect against unauthorized access
• However, no method of Internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security

5. Data Retention

We retain your information while you maintain an active account. If you delete your account:

• Your personal data will enter a 30-day grace period
• During this period, you can recover your account
• After 30 days, your personal data will be permanently deleted
• Expense data in shared groups may be retained anonymously to maintain group record integrity

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information at any time from your profile
• Correct or update your information
• Delete your account and request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a readable format
• Object to the processing of your data for certain purposes
• Withdraw your consent for notifications at any time

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookie-like technologies to:

• Keep you logged in
• Remember your preferences
• Analyze how you use the application
• Improve performance and functionality

You can control the use of these technologies through your device settings.

8. Third-Party Services

Saldoo may integrate third-party services:

• Google Authentication: if you sign in with Google, we collect your basic profile information according to the permissions you grant
• Firebase: we use Firebase for push notifications and analytics. See Google/Firebase's privacy policy for more details
• Google AdMob: we use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers and approximate location data to serve personalized ads.
• Cloud storage providers: your attachments are stored in secure storage services

9. Children's Privacy

Saldoo is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete that information immediately.

10. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. By using Saldoo, you consent to these transfers. We will take steps to ensure that your data receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through an in-app notification or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top will indicate when the last modification was made.
